Illustration Design Brief

We need a graphic visual for a presentation deck that tells the Commercial Industrial Customer the following message: You are getting ready to purchase energy (electricity), which is the largest most expensive, risky thing you have ever purchased for your company and you have never done it before. Your market was regulated and you historically just paid the bill. Now it has become a real market for you to buy and everyone is saying you can save money but all the market participants are not working on your side. Your perception of fair play and some sort of regulatory oversight are completely false. The folks selling it to you are complete sharks with all the information and there are no rules. There job is to maximize the value of their electricity to you and it is a commodity and you are a trading counterparty with no knowledge of the rules of the game. You can buy energy that includes everything and the price is clear all the way to buying energy with many things left out that will show up on your bill. By thinking you have gotten a good deal you could be paying 30% more than the guy next door. The critical measurement is what is it going to cost you overall and what is going to show up on your bills and they are getting you to focus on just a price point that only is part of the actual delivered cost. In this world salespersons promise you something, the contracts document something else in too complex a fashion for you to understand and the bills are totally un-auditable. I want something high impact that really makes the purchaser think about how much outgunned he is. The primary competitor to us is the Broker who presents himself as a free resource to the customer to help him make the decision. He really is working for the supplier who is paying him and he is not aligned with the customer at all. In addition the Broker tells the supplier how much he wants to be paid and it is based on what he thinks he can get away with. The graphic needs to really make clear that he is not working for them. I have attached our efforts to create the story and need some help graphically.


Our service to the customer is to put all the knowledge we have of how the game really is played to work strictly for the customer to ensure he really gets the very best deal in the market when he makes this decision.
