We need a logo for our research lab called the "Health Communication Interaction Design Lab." Our research is quite applied, and we focus on designing and developing interventions that help patients communicate about health. We conduct our work in a range of spaces including, for example, genetic counseling and testing, pharmacogenomics, developmental delays in children, oncofertility, cancer clinical trials, and dementia. Our interventions are sometimes script based (telling a provider the type of information that should be included in a message), paper-based (an educational brochure or booklet for use when the provider is talking with a patient), or tech-based (we are currently developing a couple of apps and websites). The design of all interventions really focuses on using communication theory and message testing to inform the content of the message included in the intervention. We would like a design that visually represents something about health, interaction, messaging, and design. We prefer that the logo not focus too much on the technologically based aspects of our work as that is a small portion, and with "interaction design" in our lab name, we occasionally get confused with computer scientists. We see interaction design as that which happens between people (communication interaction) and then designing message strategies/interventions to improve outcomes.
Many of the logos are a bit too abstract, it would help if the logo featured some aspect/element of communication and/or design.
