3D Design Brief
We need 2 animations (not necessarily complex 3D) of activity measured in the brain to be used in an online video featuring a groundbreaking study by Dr. Susan Johnson.
Output format is 2 separate HD Videos - 23.98
NTSC format
We are working in an Apple Pro Res HQ Workspace
We will need 2 stand alone animations which we will insert into the video.
View short video sample video here: https://vimeo.com/81167011
Be sure to look at sample images attached. We need a version of those that look good and that integrate into the video above.
Here is the overly simplified version of the study:
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and receives a shock. Brain goes crazy.
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and hand is held in machine by a stranger and receives a shock. Brain goes crazy.
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and hand is held in machine by her husband and receives a shock. Brain goes crazy.
Woman and man experience EFT - a ground breaking therapy. As a result, their emotional bond is strengthened and becomes more solid than ever.
Cycle is repeated.
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and receives a shock. Brain goes crazy.
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and hand is held in machine by a stranger and receives a shock. Brain goes crazy.
-Woman goes into MRI machine alone and hand is held in machine by husband and brain activity is minimal due to the safe loving connection she feels with her husband.
The 2 animations would be inserted throughout the pieces as it is described.
Attached are two images of the brain activity taken during the actual MRI sessions. We need to replicate and animate these in a style (you can also suggest one other than 3D) that would fit into the video above and that could be used as separate animations to illustrate the findings. The animations will be used in the video link above (currently in post production), in live presentations, and B-ROll in national media news coverage.
We will respond to any questions promptly to assist you in your work. We can help guide you in order to save time as well. We respect your creativity and time which is why we came here. ;)

Requirements
Must have
- The designs must emulate the scientific data in the attached two scans. They should be animated from no response, to full response. Imagine, an electric shock is what creates this brain activity. It happens fast. We are open to what the brain looks like, what matters is how the activity is measured. We're open to styles that facilitate simplicity. Stock models or 2D images could work.
It does not need to be overly complicated. It's about the data.
The animation serves as a tool to convey the findings. It is crucial that the style fit in with the black limbo backdrop of the Dr. Sue Johnson found in the linked video.
We are open to styles that fit the tone and feel of the video in the description. Be creative and feel it. Tune into the importance of what Dr. Sue Johnson is saying and match the feel. Help the audience understand what's going on in the brain.
Nice to have
- Image of brain without any activity showing a progression of the animation that shows brain activity.
Response time should be realistic.
Should not have
- Bright colours. Should integrate into the sample video. Images supplied are the actual brain scans.
Overly complex animations.
