Poster Design Brief

I need artwork created for the stage musical, Singin' in the Rain. A photo of the main actors is provided in a pose similar to the original movie poster. I would like this photo used for the artwork, but give it the look of a painting, like the original movie artwork, a sample of it is also provided.

Requirements

Must have

• The project must have an artwork design that embodies the playfulness of the stage musical. No text, title or credits should be on the artwork. The artwork should be a stand-alone piece that can be used on posters, fliers, mailings, web ads, etc.
• I have attached a copy of the original artwork that was used for the movie. I have also attached a photo of our three main actors in a similar pose as the original. I would like this photo used, but give it a “painting” look, like the original. The photo was shot using a black background, which may be a bit difficult to change, however, the background needs to be changed to an outdoor lighter color or possibly a street scene. Add the rain and feel free to change the colors of the umbrellas or raincoats.
• The overall proportions should be for a poster size of A3: 297mm x 420mm, 11.7 in. x 16.5 in.
• We will scale the artwork to fit the requirement for post cards, small posters, large 6' high banner, etc.

Nice to have

• Mostly importantly, the artwork should embrace the feeling of the original movie poster.

Should not have

• No text is needed. We will add it later depending on the specific format used, i.e., poster, postcard, flyer, etc
