Logo Design Brief

I am registering a company in Bahrain. In the first instance I require a logo for my company stamp an thereafter on business cards, website etc. The stamp itself will be made by a government recognised manufacturer so I don't have a lot of input. The name of my company 'Garry Wakefield Management Consultants SPC' will already be included on the stamp by the stamp maker together with the company registration number. So it's pointless including the whole name again. Perhaps initials? Also, Bahrain has been recognised for centuries as a Pearl fishery. Perhaps a pearl/shell symbol?
