Logo Design Brief

Please design an original logo for a new lifestyle clothing brand for owners and enthusiasts of the German Shorthaired Pointer breed of dogs. The logo will be prominently featured on shirts, hats and other clothing and accessories.

The name of the brand is Liver and Roan, with and/ampersand used interchangeably. Liver and Roan refers to the spotted like pattern prominent with the German Shorthaired Pointer breed.

The brand should appeal to hunters and non-hunters alike and skew slightly preppy. It should have an upscale, and classic, yet rugged feel to it. Think along the lines of brands like Orvis, Rodd and Gunn, Filson, with a slight preppy influence like that of Vineyard Vines and Southern Proper.

We would love to see a side profile of the dog pointing with its' front leg raised. This highly recognizable profile would be the prominent part of the logo. We would like to see earth tones used in this design, specifically Liver or similar type hues.

The final design should communicate prestige, authenticity, and ruggedness.

• Profile of a German Shorthaired Pointer that can be used as a stand alone design or with the Liver and Roan lettering.

Nice to have

• A logo that could be used with the dog profile alone and with lettering.

Should not have

• My project must not have 3D features or smooth gradients. Cross hatching or other sketch style shading would be acceptable.
