Logo Design Brief

Our company need a new logo design. We are a meat retailer who sell fresh meat and specialize in smallgoods(cold meat; salami, hams, dry products). We sell direct to public and also wholesale. We have been operating for 8 years but are looking to expand and need a new design which can be used for our building, labels, website, etc.
We are after a logo where the name is quite large so it can be seen on a small scale and still look good on a big scale. It needs to be modern, welcoming and suitable for food. We think a red background would be nice, with either black or white writing and possibly some sort of symbol.
