Logo Design Brief

I want to update my existing company logo - Heart of St Andrews - to modernise it make it easier to read and to have versions for facebook and instagram. It needs to fit in with the sub brands for the two apartments - North Star and Scribbles - see logos below. It would be nice to be able to provide a cohesive look between all 3 logos (the two for the apartments and the master logo for the company). I like the idea of a monochrome logo. I would like it to be elegant but modern. Further details of the business are available at my website www.heartofstandrews.co.uk
like everything by Magnolia Home Decor on instagram. I like neutrals, black and white. Teal would be my colour of choice (if any) but I think I would prefer black and white. I like mixing capitals and lowercase and script and non script fonts (serif). (See Magnolia for examples). I am open to possibly putting an EST. 2014 on the logo someplace. I also like Eden Mill gin's logo for its simplicity.
