Logo Design Brief

A need a logo for a mountain bike race. The samples provided are examples from similar events and are not to be copied. The F3 sample is my design and it sucks.
The Furious 3 is the closest top what I want for look and feel—fun and warm.

The final design should be fun and communicate Fernie above all else and work very well on the chest of a jersey or t-shirt, and a banner or race gate.
