Logo Design Brief

The American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club needs a 25th Anniversary Logo for them. The show will be held in Cape Cod.

Last time we held a show at this location, we used a nautical theme (see 2009 logo attached). Designs can have some nautical elements, such as lighthouses, boats, boat steering wheel, anchors, sailboats, etc. but this is not absolutely required. Ideally, at this point, we are thinking it would be nice to emphasize either the nautical aspect or the 25th anniversary, perhaps both.

The design will need to be provided in .ai/.eps, .png, and .jpg formats. The club mascot from our regular logo should be incorporated, which is attached as a small jpg and our large .eps file. The design will be used for embroidery as well as print work and online, so it should not have gradients and the letters need to be clear and easy to embroider. If possible, colors should be limited to 6. Navy Blue and Silver might be nice to include. In the past, we have leaned towards playful designs; this year could either be playful/whimsical or maybe a little more elegant for our silver anniversary show. We've done a lot of medallion shaped logos in the past and we won't rule out a good design because of that, but; something different this year might be nice.

Please remember that this is not a logo for the Club, but a logo to market/advertise the show with. We want people to look at the logo and think - "that looks fun/special - I don't want to miss this event."

Creativity appreciated. I've attached a few examples of what the "real" dogs look like, and some show logos from previous years.

Requirements

Must have

• Prefer incorporation of the Club's Mascot, but would be willing to consider other ideas. Please do not use other dog breeds than the cavalier King Charles spaniel.

Nice to have

• Nautical elements (anchors, lighthouses, boats, captain's wheel, etc); club mascot dog(see attached files, specifically "colorized dog" file).

Should not have

• Gradients, greyscale or small type that would make it not suitable for embroidery or printing on t-shirts. Design will be used for the website, embroidery on chair backs, and print media. Please do not submit designs with other breeds of dogs. This show will ONLY be for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. If you look at the attached files, you will see photos of Cavaliers as well as previous logo samples.
