Infographic Design Brief
We need a poster for our homepage and/or landing pages, which explain the problem we are solving and how we solve it. The style should be an infographic of sorts. Visually explaining the problem.
Our Solution to the challenge should be on the bottom and the description of the problem should be able to stand on its own. The Branding should not be too aggressive so that the poster/graphic can be shared on social media.
The Size is a page width (around 1150 pixels I believe) and up to 1/2 page long/high.
The problem that needs to be explained is the following:
We sell security products like padlocks, hasps and chains.
One of the main problems today is twofold:
In the commercial space a lot of keyed alike locks are sold (one key opens many locks for convenience: imagine 5 gates and 5 storage sheds for a contractor. They do not want to mess with 10 keys for all the supervisors...they want one key to open all the locks).
The problem is that distributors and resellers have to stock these locks. They cannot stock a lot of different keys, because they are limited in space and frankly don't care. So they end up selling the same keys to everybody. Even huge distributors will not carry more than 3-5 keys per lock size and only one or two different manufacturers.
A lot of businesses buy their keyed alike or master keyed locks in the local hardware store or big hardware distributors (also online).
These distributors will sell thousands of locks with the same key - every month to hundreds of businesses. It does not matter who or where you are. You will probably end up with one of a few keys 0- if you order Master keyed or keyed alike locks. These few keys will open MILLIONS of LOCKS for THOUSANDS of BUSINESSES. So just imagine a "bad guy". All he has to do is order replacement keys for $20 and he can go around and open locks everywhere. As they say "Opportunity makes the thief" or "An open door may tempt a saint" The whole illusion of security is built on the fact that very few people know that.
That means probably the business accross the street works with the same keys. Janitors and thieves have known that for long: they do not bother picking or cutting padlocks, they just have the 20 most common keys and get into 95% of the commercial properties...
We solve this problem by tracking the keys that we send out and giving exclusive keys on exclusive keyways. So keys cannot be copied by anyone but us (they do not have the keyblanks to cut) and we will not copy it for anyone unless they are authorized for that zip code/state etc.
In other words:
Steinlock changes that by giving standard exclusivity per zip code (or state) for every customer at the same price. We bring the high security concept of exclusive keyways and keys to the medium commodity market for locks of $10 - $35. Basically you buy for the same price like in the store but you are guaranteed exclusivity. That highly increases the security. If there are no sign of break in, no insurance company will ever pay, a company's own employees are wrongly accused and it can lead to huge financial loss.
The second problem is that distributors will sell anything and praise every product. We carry only select vendors, _test_ all the products and write comprehensive expert reviews. If there is a flaw we will lay it bare for the customer. there is always a trade off between security/quality and price. So basically we know the products better than the manufacturer and are available with expert support 24/7
The graphics needs to draw attention immediately and explain the problem in 15-20 seconds. Otherwise no one will bother. This will be the centerpiece for our social media outreach. We want to explain the problem well. People can make their own decision on who they will go will in the end.
Other solutions to the above problem are keyless locks (expensive) and combination locks (limited quality and people share/forget the combination) These solutions can be mentioned in the infographic as well.
We need to tell the commercial customer that they might not be secure because loads of people might have the same key. We can help by giving the exclusive keys at "amazon prices" (Please don't use Amazon in your graphic :)

Requirements
Must have
- The design must have a strong design that captures the attention of the visitor. Illustrating the problem and solution. It needs to be the centerpiece of our marketing campaign tell people why they are in danger and why they should buy from us.
- it would be great if it would work in an altered version for mobile.
- size for desktop is 1150 pixels wide and 350++ pixels high up to 1/2 page.
Nice to have
- It would be great if the design could be taken and used as basis for adds and landing pages. The more urgency and trust it induces, the better
- We want to use it for most of our social media landing pages and sharing with relevant security blogs etc.
- If you think we need two separate illustrations, we are open to your suggestions: maybe one for the keyed alike lock problem and one for the reviews and being experts for the products. It might be too much to bring into focus for one graphic. Friendly, humorous attitude.
- Maybe you cal play on the idioms used in the description? Not sure if that is a "door" into a clever design.
Should not have
- crowded text, dreamy sunset pictures, romance, difficult language, uncommon words in American English, color schemes that do not work with our logo
