Based on the designs received so far, a few items have become clear. (1) the name of our foundation - The Foundation for Women Orphans and Vulnerable Children, really needs proper grammar to communicate out focus - please note the use of commas:

(2) the logo really needs to strike an emotional connection with the viewer/audience. One of my favorite pictures from a recent trip to Africa was the silhouette of a woman balancing a parcel on her head, carrying a bag in her hand, and carrying her child on her back. Our logo can't only focus on children, but needs to include women. it is the women that truly need our help because their role is so significant in maintaining and developing families - especially to poorest of the poor - these women cook, clean, care for children, work, etc...constantly sacrificing their own priorities for the sake of the children.

We would love to see someone take a shot at using a silhouette of a women, similar to the picture we have uploaded, in the logo, perhaps a woman with children in tow or even one off a little further representing an orphan. just a thought that may help to bring some diversity to the designs being offered. thank you!
