Logo Design Brief

The Knox and Kane Rail Trail is the 3rd longest rail-trail in Pennsylvania at nearly 79 miles. It is a regional trail, spanning 4 counties, 11 municipalities, and 2 Local Development Districts. All four counties are also part of the 12-county Pennsylvania Wilds Conservation Landscape Initiative, which promotes projects such as this that provide sustainable economic development and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Built between 1881 and 1883, the logo should reflect the transition from working rail corridor to a great all-season attraction for hikers, joggers, bikers, equestrians, nature enthusiasts, cross-country skiers. and snowmobilers alike. It should highlight the natural landscape through which it will pass, which includes small rural towns, numerous historically restored train stations, and the ecologically diverse Allegheny National Forest.
