Logo Design Brief

I've got a designer I'm working with now, so no need for any more entries. Just getting some revisions made to it before final.

I need a new-modern looking logo for my video production website and business. I recently had my site re-worked with a completely new look/feel and would like an awesome looking logo to complement it. The base color for the background of the site is black and a dark red for some of the elements as you'll see here:

I am a professional & creative camera operator for major networks, corporate clients and firms. We also produce, shoot and edit promotional films and documentaries for television. Check out our website and get some ideas based on what you see there. I have included some other logos that grabbed my eye along with a few elements that could be complimentary such as the front of a lens. The "perfect balance films" camera looks interesting, but I wouldn't want the whole camera used if incorporated, perhaps just the front lens portion along with the microphone on top suggesting camera crew.
I'm looking for a logo that is classy, simple yet a design that communicates the idea of video production/camera work.
I like the logo sample included below for ILYASCURTIS, maybe the BA could be similar looking to the color portion of their logo? I like the color variance in that. There should be the dark red in some portion of the design to match the theme of my site.
