Book Cover Design Brief
Need book cover for new paperback. 4.5 x 7
Front cover: Physically fit, Woman (around 38-40 years old) in jeans, boots, present day clothing. Brunette, wears hair is braid that hangs down back. Carries a gun (.45) in shoulder holster and a sheathed katana sword on back. Late Spring or early Autumn. Next to her sits a Rottweiller. Both overlooking a treed valley (Tennessee, Kentucky hills).
Back cover: Old wooden cabin somewhere in background. On a rock outcrop sits an insect.
Insect, if real, described as follows:
grasshopper-like, 3 1/2 to 4 in. long,
segmented armored body.
Built up bridge on head that resembles a miniature crown. Intricate iridescent wings, large, wide, graceful
Fine silver hair on head, shoulders and body.
Face: large oval eyes set into face, has hints of human qualities
Tail: covered in same silver hair, half length of body, barbed stinger at end (scorpion/dragon-like)

- Rottweiller tail is docked to 3-4" stub. Dog needs to be looking in same direction as woman.
- Book Title: Cover, top third MAIDEN WARRIOR
- Author: Cover, bottom of cover N Tyra
- Spine: Book Title and Author's name
- Back cover: Leave uncolored, blank white space for ISBN and barcode at bottom right of cover. 1.833" x 1" is the correct ISBN barcode size to use when making a one piece cover. Leave 1/4" from bottom and spine.
Nice to have
- Cover view can be of woman and dog seen either from the rear or from a side view. From a side view, dog is male
