Web Design Brief

~ May 3, 2017 Update ~
As our project is rapidly progressing towards its completion, we started building up the list of designs that attracted the most of the team's attention. Additional submittals are still most welcome. Before submitting your proposal, however, we can recommend to review the concepts that received 4 stars as these are the ones that, in our opinion, most closely match the brief's requirements. Thank you!!

~ April 30, 2017 Update ~
The project deadline has been extended to attract a broader design community and to better tailor the final design to the requirements of the project.

A "light", "clean" (minimalistic), professionally looking, unique design is expected. Please, try to avoid industry cliches. Also, please use green, which became another industry cliche, with great caution. The brief provides minimum details to foster creativity. With the same notion in mind, the page content information is not provided.

Thank you for your feedback and support of the project!!

Additional comments after starting receiving more designs:
- your attention to the brief's requirements will be highly appreciated. It is expected that the design is unique - standard, commonly used, images, formats and approaches do not fall under this category. There is no need to "bombard" with slightly different variations of the same design. It is expected that a conceptual (preliminary) design is submitted first, and, after it is reviewed (each design will receive a star rating and, if the star rating is greater than 3, a detailed feedback), the requested changes are implemented. We believe this will allow to approach the design process more efficiently and safe additional time to both the Designers's Community and our company. Thank you for understanding.

Clarification, please submit two variations of a design:
1) 1 page "business card" design that the company will be able to use during its startup stage;
2) the fully functional design (as per the requirements outlined below) for the company to transition to after the start-up period is over. Same design principles as developed for option 1 should be used for this variation.

Additional clarification, please note that the news block will not require images (at least during the start-up stage). It is envisioned to be a news feeder.

~ April 21, 2017 Update ~
Preliminary comments after receiving first designs:
- please try to create a unique design, using common elements wisely. Though such solar energy "attributes" as a solar panel or a bulb are very well recognized and allow quickly identify the nature of the business, they also became so common that in many cases a design may seem very similar to the one of others (Oh!, I've already seen this... effect).
- please try to introduce the company's logo unobtrusively. The size and position of the logo should clearly identify the company, but the message should be subtle, the logo should not distract from the main design. Nike's swoosh did not need to occupy have the screen.
- please use the green color with caution as it was with the company's logo. True, it is a green energy. But there is no need for the color to "scream" about it. Use the amount of green and its tone (avoid acid green) wisely.
