Logo Design Brief

The City of Elsa, Texas will host a Chili Cookoff on July 1, 2017 at Mario Leal Park. I need a logo for the event. I have attached a logo I like, but I am open to another design.
Because of the closeness to Independence Day we would like a red, white and blue theme.
