Logo Design Brief

I have a blog/web site/store at http://www.ambor.com which I have been slowly building up over the past decade or so. It started out as a hobby and has slowly grown to the point where it's spinning off enough cash that I am going to start investing to see if I can grow it further.

The main sources of revenue are about 30% from banner advertisements (from people clicking on the ads after reading interesting content) 30% from selling the Harvey Balls font (http://www.ambor.com/public/hb/harveyballs.html) to businesses and 30% from selling various branded pieces of merchandise (http://www.harveyballs.com).

The Harvey Balls part of the site has its own brand identity but I'm quite happy with the simple logo that I use there. What I am looking for is a logo for the overall Ambor site. I then plan to completely redesign the site around the new Ambor logo.

I would like the logo to be usable for my own consulting projects (to put on a business card or letterhead). I do strategy consulting and also photography. These are very different types of activities and so I need a logo that can stretch to sell almost anything (like the amazon.com logo essentially can stretch to sell anything).

I'm thinking that for the graphic, something stylised from an "aperture" (see: http://bor.to/xirPYd) might be nice.

The articles that get the most traffic are related to esoteric technical subjects.

Ambor is made up of my first initial (A), middle initial (M) and full surname (BOR). Currently I have the letters all in lower case on the web site, but this is not a requirement for the logo.
