Web Design Brief

Would love you to create a 'look' for our website iCAREiously. As a long time sole parent carer to my now adult son and his two younger brothers, many of my dreams of exploring the world have been shelved. And, even if we do ever get to travel, it will need to be modified due to his disabilities.

So .. iCAREiously (of course a play on the word 'vicariously') is an invitation - a request - for other travellers to climb the mountains for me, go to the obscure little festivals, have the conversations which turn out to be life changing .. To show me the world through their eyes in the form of video/short documentaries.

Of course, I'm using myself/my life situation as an example .. but there are many like me - carers - as well as the incapacitated and elderly who will enjoy and benefit from such connectivity.

Our website look will need to be visually engaging, exciting and with a positive vibe .. as well as easy to navigate.

As a full time carer, it is no longer possible for me to find employment outside of the home so I am hoping the website can generate an income for my family. Neither carers nor contributors should incur any expense so I anticipate that front page advertising needs to be given careful attention as this is how the website will attract sponsorship/generate income.

As a general look, I'm really liking a lot of aspects on this website .. http://gypsyville.com/

The font is a bit hillbilly so would need to be different. In our header, we'd need the title 'iCAREiously' and also the phrase 'wings to fly' (love the image of the old time car with wings but, I guess, it would need to be modified a bit in case of copyright :-).

Other than the winged car, aspects I like on this website include the old world map as a background and other elements of visual interest in the background and, of course, the little sparrow in flight towards the bottom of the page (would like this bird to be near the words 'wings to fly' ..?). I also quite like the little starbursts throughout .. a bit of magic ;-)

Maybe the word 'wanderlust' somewhere - if space allows because should not look overcrowded.

We will use other social media to promote latest uploads (ie facebook, insta, youtube) so there must be provision for these too.

Reluctant to suggest desired colour scheme because you may come up with something much nicer .. but a bit of earthiness to tie in with the vintage map/passport stamp theme would be great with perhaps some pale blue .. open to suggestions.

Unclear of how many tabs and titles will be required yet so please feel free to make up your own headings. And please ask questions if you need clarification on anything.

• The phrase 'wings to fly'.

Nice to have

• A vintage map of the world and maybe some passport stamps. The word 'wanderlust' .. somewhere.
• As per the gypsyville.com website ..
• The winged car.
• A bird in flight.
• Some sparkle.

Should not have

• Nothing negative. Although being a carer can sometimes feel like being trapped in a cage, I feel using such an image would be creating a negative feel. Just the bird in flight will say enough and represents freedom.
