Web Design Brief

The project is about a web design for a brand new dental clinic: VIP Dental Clinic. The dental clinic is located in NSW and the target market is population of all ages (although specialised pediatric dentistry will not be offered at the clinic)

The design is to be:
• Modern
• Professional
• Simple but very attractive
• Logically organised
• Clean
• Fresh
• Engaging
• Friendly
• Creative

Design is to have:
• The dental clinic logo to be shown at the top of every page
• The address and phone number also to be shown at the top of every page
• A link for an online appointment on all pages
• Easy to navigate pages
• Tabs which are easy to identify and read. The tabs are also to be shown at the bottom of each page.
• With drop down menus to be displayed as you scroll along tabs
• Text that is easy to read
• A good use of the colour
• Photos of people smiling. These photos are to be very selective, meaningful and fresh as they play an important role suggesting excellent dental health.
• Short messages

The design is NOT to have:
- Similarities with any other dental clinic (the web design should be authentic and genuine)
- Photos of teeth or smiles on their own or dentists practising the dental work on patients


The site is to include the following pages:

• HOME – this is the welcome page. This page will contain a thank you message and an invitation to visit the dental clinic. It will also have a follow us on facebook and twitter and an area to display testimonials.

• ABOUT US – this page will contain a summary of who we are and the business mission.

• OUR SERVICES – this page is to include a list of the different dental treatments that will be provided at the clinic. Each treatment will have a link to a small window containing a brief description of what the treatment is. This page will also have a section for guarantees on dental work.

• OUR TEAM – this page will have a photo of the professionals that will be working at the clinic and which includes dentists, dental hygienist, dental assistant and administrative assistant.

• OUR TECHNOLOGY – this page will show equipment and technology that we have available at the clinic.

• GALLERY – on this page we will display the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of different treatments conducted, photos of the clinic, etc.

• SPECIAL OFFERS – this page is to contain a list of the discounts available. This page is to include an area to display special offers that will be offered in addition to standard discounts. This page must also include an option for the client to subscribe to our special offers/updates via email. It must also include payment options. It must also include a voucher design which can be printed for discounts.

• LATEST NEWS – this page will include information on latest technical advances on the dental field and may also have links to other documents

• CONTACT US – this page must include:
o the name of the clinic, full address, phone number, fax number, email address
o the business hours
o a location map – link to google maps
o an option under: Using public transport? Plan your trip at: www.131500.com.au
o an option under: Driving your vehicle? Obtain trip directions at: www.whereis.com.au
o parking availability
o a ‘print this page’ option
o a photo of the premises for easy identification of the location

• ONLINE APPOINTMENTS – this page must include cells for:

o name
o surname
o mobile number, alternative phone number, email address
o best contact: mobile/alternative number/email
o preferred date and preferred time of the appointment
o are you an existing client/a new patient?
o describe any special needs you may have (e.g. wheelchair access, other)
