Illustration Design Brief

I need to revamp my winter appliance characters for promotional collateral. These characters need to be sad as they haven't been serviced and a bit neglected.

I have attached the copy of the old ones we had created many years and i would like them to be modern just so you know what i mean. I have also attached a copy of real life pics and what i want them to look like - the style and shape of the character as they differ from the old illustration.

With the sad hot water systems (both the square shape and cylinder shape) i want them to be leaking some water and to be a bit rusty around the edges.

The solar panels to be dirty and maybe have a few cracks.

The room heater to have gases coming out from the system.

As these characters are sad... i would also like to create a happy version of them, so there will be 8 characters in total.
