Poster Design Brief
22nd November is St Cecilia's Day, the Patron Saint of music. 100 years ago on that day, Benjamin Britten was born, famously dubbed the "greatest English composer since Purcell". 50 years ago that day, three of the most prominent men in history died: this trifecta included theologian and author of 'Narnia' C. S. Lewis, philosopher and author of 'Brave New World' Auldous Huxley, and one of America's most beloved presidents, John F. Kennedy.
In memory of these prominent figures of the 20th century, the Choir of St Michael at the North Gate (the City Church of Oxford) perform some of the world's best vocal music composed or inspired by these men. The playlist includes Britten's 'Hymn to St Cecilia', J. S. Bach's 'Komm, Jesu, komm', 'The Trellis' by Aldous Huxley set to music by John Ireland, and Herbert Howells' 'Take him, earth, for cherishing', written specially for the memorial service of President John F Kennedy in Washington National Cathedral.
We are looking for a dramatic concert poster / or series of posters that encapsulate all these important aspects on this one day. Tickets will be set up on wegottickets.com - space for their logo will be needed.

Target Market(s)
Mostly students and staff from the Universities of Oxford and Brookes, but also singers from local Oxfordshire choral societies who have a passion for singing and the repertoire. Local musical professionals and appreciators. Not really suitable for children. Cultured adults that support local artistic projects and go to live classical concerts. Higher-end readership. I would like to charge much more for the ticket prices (in order to reflect the quality of the performance) but Oxford is haemorrhaging quality concerts for very little, and the competition is fierce. This poster needs to stand out from the crowd of other events going on, and perhaps be coupled with an inventive marketing strategy.
