Book Cover Design Brief

I need an enticing cover (both e-book and print formats) for a new mystery/thriller about ghosts. This is more of a paranormal or psychological thriller, not horror. The title should be easily visible in thumbnail view.

The story: a man is found dead in a gutted building* and a ghost is blamed. The ghost is a miner from the 1930s and is tall, thin, wears a long tail jacket and stovepipe hat (think Abraham Lincoln). I have in mind a corpse outline near the steps with a ghostly shadow looming, but I am open to all interpretations and ideas.
Other elements in the story: female reporter, snakes, mountains, a haunted hotel called The Dove, copper and gold. The murder weapon was a knife.
