Logo Design Brief
"Millefleurs" is a newly established family farm specializing in the production of lavender, honey, and mead (honey wine). The farm is situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, Canada, right at the hearth of Prince Edward County's wine trail -- a pastoral region fast becoming known for its diverse agro-tourism experience.
Once fully established, the farm will have several gardens and walkways inviting visitors to wander through the lavender fields and to take-in the sea-like view of Lake Ontario. The retail shop will have the casual chic feel of a brand new post and beam barn and contain a boutique offering fresh and lavender products, raw honey, and honey wines. It will also have a wine tasting bar. Clients will be able to tour the apiary, the honey extraction house, and the winemaking facilities.
We require a logo and wordmark that will brand our product(s) as a premium quality, handcrafted, and locally-grown organic food and beverage.
The Logo design should have a classic or vintage style, yet feel simple, fresh at the same time.
(Background: The words "mille fleurs' mean a thousand flowers in French. It is a also a Renaissance term describing a weaving and glass blowing technique of inserting hundreds of small flowers in the background of large tapestries or in glass paperweights and vases.)

Requirements
Must have
- - include a balanced reference to the three design elements of:
- lavender, honey, and mead/wine.
- - it should feel breezy, harmonious, and wholesome
- - have a lush/pastoral character
- - Soft colour palette can also include grays or black and the logo should be printable in black and white
Nice to have
- - the reference to the 3 design elements could be achieved through colours, movement, or objects (e.g. the lavender reference could be done by adding one or several lavender flowers or simply by choosing lavender as a main colour)
- - the reference to beekeeping could be discreet like having a half-tone honey comb background; simple like encasing the logo in the profile of a hive; or, direct by including one of more bees, although the bees must look gentle.
- - The reference to wine products should be there but subtle (e.g. a bee with a cork-screw stinger?)
Should not have
- - no direct alcohol symbols like wine glasses or bottles
- - the drawing should not look childish or appear to be aimed at a children population. The farm is definitely catering to families, but one of the product is mead -- an alcoholic beverage. So, the logo has to exude responsible drinking
- the other products flowers and honey, therefore environmental responsibility is another key value.
