Logo Design Brief
This is for a new tech startup that finds emergent technology and helps organisations gain advantage from it.
All ideas considered but initial thoughts were to keep logo fairly simple - e.g. a letter E (upper or lower case), somehow implying that it is emerging from something, and suggesting gaining an improvement or advantage e.g. an upward swoop/arrow. But you are the creative, so please be as creative as you can!
Fresh modern colours preferred, likewise a modern but very readable typeface for the company name would be nice.
If you have any questions at all please get in touch; happy to be as involved as you would like me to be.
Updates
Hi and thank you for some high quality designs. To those of you who have clearly read the brief, submitted thoughtful suggestions and even made revisions based on my feedback - thank you. After taking the top few logo designs to a group of people I trust for feedback I have now selected the winning design and I'm sorry if this wasn't you. Having said that, although there were a lot of "generic" entries, I have been impressed by the work many of you have done. Apologies for not selecting you on this occasion but thank you for your time and suggestions and I hope to work with you in future.
All the best,
Martin

Target Market(s)
Organisations, normally medium to large but in any industry, who may face challenges of (and opportunities from) emergent technology and need expert advice and tools
Industry/Entity Type
Computer Software
Contact Information for Business Card
Business card is likely to be embossed so that the logo appears to be coming out of the card, this should be borne in mind as it will therefore subtly appear reversed on the back of the card, so I imagine that the back of the card will be pretty simple - a single colour with a strapline or web address.

Requirements
Must have
- A simple but striking logo that communicates the concepts of emergent and advantage (see "nice to haves" for explanation).
- Colour choice should reflect modernity but you should also supply grayscale versions of same image for use in documents
- This logo will be animated so please supply all source files
Nice to have
- As above. All ideas considered but initial thoughts were to keep logo fairly simple - e.g. a letter E (upper or lower case), somehow implying that it is appearing/emerging from something, and suggesting gaining an improvement or advantage e.g. upward movement implied.
Should not have
- PLEASE NOTE that the logo will also need to be used solo i.e. without the text Emergent Advantage, so although it's fine for one or more initials to be used the long text itself can't be too integral a part of the design.
- PLEASE DO read the design brief sections above; generic submissions that make no reference to the emergent or advantage aspects will almost certainly not be successful.
- PLEASE DON'T make it overcomplicated; "simple but striking" is the brief.
