Web Design Brief
Thanks for viewing our project. We are excited about this new website and we hope that we might build a relationship with designers as we work on this project. I provided quite a few details and requirements to help you more quickly create a design that meets our needs.
Who we are:
We are a website that discusses the importance of college accreditation and provides a directory of college programs.
What we need:
A homepage that meets the below requirements and is inspired by the examples provided
Definition of accredited:
ac·cred·it·ed [uh-kred-i-tid] adj.
1. officially recognized as meeting the essential requirements, as of academic excellence: accredited schools.
2. provided with official credentials, as by a government: an accredited diplomatic representative.
3. accepted as authoritative: an accredited theory.
Overall look and feel for the homepage:
- Clean, simple and modern
- Limited (or zero) pictures
- Utilize color blocks with text
- A trend seems to be longer vertical length homepages with lots of whitespace. I generally like this trend as long as the page is not way to tall.
Inspirations: Sites that have a similar look and feel to what I need.

Items to be included on the homepage. Details below on each item.
- Top navigation
- Logo: Please leave a blank area for a logo. The logo has not been designed.
- Simple graphic/color block at the top that highlights a definition of “Accredited” – the definition should be formatted like it is being copy/pasted from a dictionary.
- Space for a video and small (50 word) written description of the video. You can use placeholder text.
- One section with 3 Paragraphs of content (each paragraph around 100 words) with a header at the top. You can use placeholder text but please create the formatting. At the end of the 3 paragraphs please have a “Read More” Note this shouldn't be 3 separate paragraphs with three read mores - it is 3 paragraphs with one read more at the end.
- An area with the header “Search Colleges by State” that has anchor text links to all 50 states.
