Logo Design Brief

Just to help out a little more about our market segments. We are mainly in baby gear ( baby mats, baby changing, totes, high chair covers) with overlap in maternity ( nursing covers, feeding pillows) baby feeding ( bibs) and Diapers (swim and diaper cover) we realise that the original brief was too vague


We wish to redesign our logo to relaunch the brand. Our brand is 10 years old and we want to refresh it with a bright new look. We want to attract moms and moms to be, so using softer colours, pastels as opposed to say a bright red which is more attractive to men.We want multiple colours as well

We make a multitude of baby and maternity projects entirely in Canada with only Canadian and American materials. We make all our products in Canada and just started to make some in the UK. All are durable, of high quality and very long lasting. We have over 50 different products for moms, baby's and toddlers. We used highly technical fabrics, USA grown organic cotton. Again in multiple market segments related to mommy and baby

Now our current logo really emphasises our Canadian origins, we want to move away from that but will look at some playing into that area. Do not include made in Canada in the logo nor the website

We want a total redesign of the logo so it's totally fresh and different from our existing logo. Our brand is smitten baby (www.smittenbaby.com). Our sister brands are blue celery (www.bluecelery.com) and generation baby (www.generationbaby.ca) . You can see our products at those sites.

our products include bibs, mats, aprons, placemats, nursing covers, feeding products, high chair covers... so a wide range of baby and maternity items so it should have a broad market segment appeal. As we indicate we are in more that one group

We want a very bold and distinctive logo, nothing with a product since we make so many.

The design should not be merely text but include some graphic elemets

The logo should convey luxury or high end brand while emphasising quality and dependability.

The logo will ultimately be going on our packaging which we also intend to totally revamp following the new logo. That project will be launched in February.

Requirements

Must have

• Total refresh of existing 10 year old brand, should not reflect our current branding
• Convey quality, safety and durability. Up market /luxury brand

Nice to have

• key selling points of the brand - if it can some how be conveyed
• Entirely Made in Canada. But without the blatant in your face inclusion of Canadian symbols so covey that sense of premium, safety and long lasting that it wont fall apart or might contain dodgy materials
• All fabric is made in Canada with either Canadian materials or US materials, no off shore
• Products are long lasting
• products use highly technical fabrics unique in the baby business\
• mommy friendly

Should not have

• it should not look like the existing logo - we want a total refresh.
• nothing related to a product since we make about 60
• Don't put website or made in Canada in the logo
• Also don't concentrate on the made in Canada aspect beyond conveying that its high quality. Not sure this is clear but hopefully
• no text logos. We have that currently and we want something totally and completely different for our relaunch
• Should not be a text only design or similar to our current logo
• PREFER NO WORD MARKS OR LETTER MARKS
