Logo Design Brief

EMS patch design for our uniforms. We are EMS Professionals (Paramedics and EMTs). We work for Berkeley County, South Carolina. We want a more professional and representative patch. We want something that includes the "Star of Life" and also represents the county we serve.

The initial thought, but certainly not limited to, is have the design appear to be looking straight on, or slightly elevated view into the landscape. But again, that is just one idea of many. “Cypress Gardens” is a well known landmark in Berkeley County used in many, many movies, so that is something we would like to incorporate. The lake, the Palmetto Tree, National Forest, etc are all things can can, but do not need to be used in the design. We also would like the "Star of Life" (EMS Symbol). 3.5" to 4.5" is a appropriate size for the patch.

You can search fire department patches to see ideas, but we are not part of the fire department, so no Maltese Cross. I have included different examples and also some pictures of the area.

Any colors are ok, and any landscape should be colored to depict actual colors, or similar.

Winner will likely have a follow-on project for uniform t-shirt design.

Remember that this will be made into a patch, so coloring should be able to sewn. (embroidered)

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE CYPRESS GARDENS AS THE BACKGROUND....IT WAS JUST ONE THOUGHT.

Must have

• Must have area where we can have "Paramedic" or "Emergency Medical Technician" in it. We will have two made, one with Paramedic in that area, and one with emergency medical technician in that area, since we have two different levels of providers.

Nice to have

• We are open to any type of patch. Circular, oval, shield, etc.

Should not have

• red cross, ambulance, maltese cross, no EKG lines, text in current patch is missing the "s" at the end of Service, should be "Services"
