Logo Design Brief
We need a new logo for our nonprofit organization that clarifies who we are as an organization, a logo that can grow with us in the future. Our nonprofit focuses on four key areas: athletics, job skill training, disaster preparedness, and community develop. We are currently working in Haiti, but could expand to other third world countries in the future. We are working on fundraising to build a multipurpose athletic, educational and community center that we have named the King Center that will allow us to accomplish our goals in the future.
You can see our old logo attached and visit our website at www.plhope.org. We do not like this logo because it seems to portray us as a daycare or children's program, which is not what PLH is focused on. As we are clarifying our message and trying to re-brand our nonprofit, we ask you to be aware of and focus on the following:
Our Mission Statement: Empowering Haitians to build a stronger Haiti.
How we believe our four focus areas can help us accomplish the change we want to see:
Athletics - Training young athletes to overcome lack of self worth that results from poverty through purposeful mentoring and leadership development.
Job Skills training - Teaching Haitians job skills needed to be freed from the strain of poverty, and the cycle of dependency.
Disaster Preparedness - Provide specialized training for Haitians to serve one another safely in times of disaster.
Community Development - Promote community development by providing a space (the King Center) for conferences, seminars, revivals, sporting events and disaster relief.
Target Market(s)
All ages of prospective donors/partners/businesses - the millennials that we have worked with seem excited about the project and our purpose, but our current donors are from older generations or businesses.

Requirements
Nice to have
- Some preliminary designs have included the country of Haiti. While this is our current area of focus and will be for the next 10 years, we would like logo to not limit us to one country. Therefore, making the flag or country outline an optional component of the logo would be ideal.
Should not have
- Multiple color logo - like the one we have now
