Book Cover Design Brief

I need a mind blowing cool creative cover for my book. It will be on "Create space" on Kindle and in paperback.

This is my book full of true adventures of my life. If you meshed The Shawshank redemption with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with The Electric Kool Aid Acid test then added a little Grapes of Wrath and added elements from the book "Stand by Me... Then you would have an idea of content. If you are not familiar with any of these movies or books it is about survival, personal loss tragedy and the triumph of the human spirit. It is about life lessons and hope and humor and in the end, success.

I describe "Talking Dog" in the book as "A hip jive jungle cat who walks with a pimp limp" THINK "SPUDS McKENZI" FROM THE OLD BUDWEISER COMMERCIALS ... BULL TERRIER...He is a ladies man and smokes and drinks and stays out all night. Wears Cobalt blue sunglasses and lots of jewelry. He is mostly just "Cool like that".

TALKING DOG...I got the name Talking Dog from a conversation where explained a mistake I had made at work - in anger I said to my Fleet manager "Well I guess I'm just stupid!" To which he replied, "I don't buy that because I have read your stories and I know your smart." I then told him "just because I have this one little bit of talent does not make me smart, like if you came home one day and found out your dog could talk. Yes, that would be AMAZING! But maybe the next day you back the car from the driveway and run over and kill him because he was lying in the sun licking his n%$&, he is a dog after all. So having one special talent does not mean your smart - and that is how talking dog was born. I have a talent, so they say but I could end up like the dog because I do really stupid stuff.

MOTHER LODE....I got MOTHER LODE from listening to an NPR radio program.
The interviewer was talking to a lady who married a rich Iraqi student while they both were attending the same university. After university they moved to Iraq. Soon she found herself a virtual prisoner of her husband and Sharia law. Long story short after 5 years she escaped and returned to the United States and wrote a book about her experiences. She told the NPR interviewer that "This experience provided her with a treasure chest of stories that allowed her to write the book." I said out loud to the radio, "Well if that was a treasure chest - then I have the ever loving MOTHER LODE!"

What I'm looking for in COLORS are of course like everyone else...EYE
CATCHING...Bright...Bold...Oranges, Yellows, Turquoise Cobalt blue.. Book
covers by TOM ROBBINS comes to mind. I need original. Cool, hip tough guy
survivor... My stories appeal especially to women. Comments like, Karl, not only did I cry but I had tears streaming down my face or, I started reading it and couldn't stop...I get that a lot.

I'm open to FONT STYLES...I used IMPACT for my own creation. I made up a book cover a couple years ago (attached) just to make it seem more real to me. The vehicle that carries most all the stories is travelling....I went to 13 different schools growing up, I have hitchhiked more than 100,000 miles and for the last ten years I have been an over the road truck driver with more than one million miles of safe accident free driving. I grew up living in cars and vans on the road, so the American highway plays an important role in my life and carries my stories in the book.

I spent 7 years writing this, although we are only releasing a very small portion here in the beginning, this will be a 5 book series covering almost 60 years in the life of the most amazing adventures you have ever heard or read about.

I have put blood sweat and tears into this and agonized over every word. I am a high school drop out and twice convicted felon (27 YEARS AGO) and taught myself how to write. I never ask for anything from anyone and I have scratched and fought to get where I am today...the proverbial "Self made man".

In closing, I would be partial to a bold, humorous irreverent suave tough edgy risk taking design... I trust the artist to know their own work and put best fonts with their color scheme and design creation. I'm a traveling man, the cover does not have to have a Talking Dog in it with a graphic to represent the MOTHER LODE but it can...I'm too close to this...I need a BRILLIANT design...The winning design will make me say "WOW!!"

I'm a trail blazer and hell raiser .... Rock - a Rolla... This book is a mind blowing rocking wild adventure with enough freaks to be its own circus...I don't know what else to say except I NEED A BAD ASS COVER DESIGN... Thank you....
