Logo Design Brief
We are a small Hobby business that has begun manufacturing small quantities of items. As we want to be able to market our goods better we are in need of a logo that can be used for diverse tasks.
The main requirement is a logo that is visually appealing and yet relatively discreet in a print fashion: for example to silk screen on top of packaging boxes or to engrave into wooden materials. We want the logo to get the initials/name of our business out with ease without actually harming the visual appeal of the items themselves as most of our packing materials are 'practical' (Meaning: the buyer will not dispose of the packaging, but instead the packaging itself may be the item being sold).
This design is not for the business name itself but for our products in the specific niche of 'Gaming/Hobby toys' ie: Collectables and their accessories, Board Games, Roleplaying, Miniatures and their accessories. Our items tend to be considered 'high quality/high end' so ideally the logo will be leaning towards the 'elegant/luxury' side of things as our target audience is individuals with a bit more disposable income or those who are willing to spend a bit extra, while still keeping in mind that these are for people's recreational hobbies, so we don't want the logo/branding to 'bog' people down with the idea of luxury. To give you a quick idea of what type of items this logo would be engraved on, we are planning on releasing a small wooden box with approximate dimensions of 105x95x65mm.
The name of our line is "Greater Gaming" (as the business is named Greater Living), and it was purposefully chosen so that it can be a playful name, we desire the initials GG to be the the main logo shown on print/engraved as we think it can be much easier to keep the idea of 'elegant but noticeable' compared to printing all of "Greater Gaming". (And marketing wise, due to our niche we also find it an upside if people mention our line of items as 'GG x')
Attached you can find a sample logo we found online that we thought appealing, at least in terms of the idea and simplicity, even if it may be a bit difficult to identify that it is "GG" rather than just a single "G", it may still give you a bit of an idea of what we're looking for.
Ideally for the project you would be able to get us a logo of the abbreviation GG as well as an accompanying design with the whole "Greater Gaming" name which works with the abbreviation itself.
If you would like some extra information, we are quite open to most of the cliches that you would think of when it comes to "Board Game" type of hobbies (Think dungeon & dragons, Magic the Gathering, Warhammer): ie. 'thorns' 'trees/leaves' 'weapons' 'insignias'
However, it does not necessarily have to be part of the cliche, as we also understand how a more streamlined logo can go a long way with branding your items as a high quality line.
