Logo Design Brief

I am looking for a logo for a new business starting in Scotland.
The business is a Travel Agency who will use the logo on outdoor signage and on letter headed paper etc.
We are funky but professional and we are linked to one of Scotlands Biggest Travel Agents.
I have had suggestions of a black background and funky lettering.
The agency sells holidays to young and old, we also sell holidays to people from other countries coming into the uk so the logo may well be used abroad.
We have a facebook page and will soon have twitter and instagram as well.
our website will not be bookable but will have opportunity to advertise holidays and special offers.
I am hoping to have something that is transferrable over all social media and looks good on outdoor signage.
The shop location in on a main street with lots of shops around it and flats above. The logo will be displayed outside on large sign above door so needs to be prominent enough to get noticed
