Logo Design Brief

We need your help! Looking for colours, fonts, and a logo for "The Big Coast", our newly-formed band based in Vancouver, BC.

PLEASE NOTE: We're NOT a classical music group, so we don't want elegant, italic fonts, delicate lines, etc. We need something bold and attention-grabbing! This will be going on posters, our website, tee-shirts, banners, CDs and more.

We're an eclectic mix of musicians who play indie-style music influenced by funk, rock, reggae, and jazz. We use the following instrumentation:

Lead Male Vocals
Supporting Female Vocals
Acoustic Rhythm Guitar
Lead Electric Guitar
Electric Bass
Drums
Synth/piano
Trumpet
Trombone
Saxophone

Our original songs, smooth harmonies, and horn section really sets us apart from the crowd, and we need our branding to do the same. We're looking for something eye-catching and memorable. Please help us out!

I added the following files to this project to help you get a sense of who we are:

1) A "demo" of our lead singer and guitarist doing one of our songs. IT'S NOT THE FULL BAND (we're working on our first recording!) but it will give you an idea of what we sound like.
2) A photo of (some of) the band, if that's of any help.

Target Market(s)

We mostly play local pubs and bars, but we're looking to expand beyond that to larger events like festivals and block parties. Our typical crowd is people aged 20 to 35 out with their friends for a night on the town. We're branding ourselves to become more memorable and start getting better gigs with a wider audience.

Requirements

Must have

• A logo with the following:
• - At least two colours (Maybe blue, orange, and yellow? But it's up to you!)
• - At least two fonts, OR some suggested font pairings

Nice to have

• - Something simple and unique
• - Something that catches the eye and is easy to remember
• - Something people would want on a t-shirt

Should not have

• We're NOT an "intense" band (metal, punk, etc). Nothing inappropriate, shocking or off-putting.
• We're NOT a classical music group, so we don't want elegant, italic fonts, delicate lines, etc. We need something bold and attention-grabbing! This will be going on posters, our website, tee-shirts, banners, CDs and more.
