Logo Design Brief

I need a Logo Design for a new consulting company that I am setting up which is involved in providing guidance to the hospitality industry.
I have put together an image page of the items and style that I would like to see plus a quick hand sketch of a concept.
I have chosen "Oboe" as the name of my company as historically the oboe was the instrument that all other instruments in as orchestra were tuned or referenced to.
I like to concept of the compass as it provides direction.
I would like to have a serious message but in a relaxed / fun logo.
