Documentary filmmaker needs a movie poster for a film that will screen in an upcoming festival

Hey there, I would love to submit a design for you, but it would appear that the link to the photos is broken.
I'd also love to check out the film before designing, where can I find a link to that?
Cheers!
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
You can view the film at:

The photo is a still taken from the film. It is a photo of Jackie singing in the choir with her two daughters - one on each side. There is a cross in the foreground. Why don't you view the film, let me know if you are interested and I can send you the photo (or others if you see something that looks like a good candidate).
I am quite excited about it screening at an upcoming festival but a little nervous about getting a poster soon.
I am glad you are interested and look forward to hearing back from you!
Best, Bobbie
Hi Bobbie,
That is quite a beautiful film you have there, and about such a beautiful person. Thank you for sharing.
I'd love to take a crack at this for you, i just need a tad more information first.
Are you looking for the standard 27" X 41" size? Or did you have something else in mind?
Did you want the credits included in the bottom? If so, are you able to provide the copy for that?
And I know you mentioned stills from the movie, but I am afraid that -- at poster sizes-- you are going to get poor results where print quality is concerned with an image that small. Are you open to an illustrated poster? That would allow us to get the best print results if there are not high resolution images from the film available, and honestly might really fit the mood you described in your brief.
Let me know what you think of that idea. I can always use the photo approach, but I think with illustration we can get you something as unique and beautiful as your film.
Hi,
I am very interested to submit a design for your indie film, but as stated by the earlier comment, the link provided does not work. Can you also mail or pm me your images? or better yet, provide link for reference.
I'd like to show you what I have in mind.
Regards,
Luna
I have read this text..this is very good concept. Yet i'd like to thanks for offered me to make this poster. But i have some questions these are..which link u have provided in this text..it doesn't work..how to i reach this link..n what is the size of poster??
Thanks for the kind words Kelly. Let me see if I can answer your questions:
1) I am not really sure of anything else I would have in mind. I have never had a film accepted before or needed to do a movie poster. If 27' by 41" is standard, I would say let's go with it. I can check with the festival people tomorrow (or possibly Mondsy) to see if they have different ideas.
2) Yes, I need some credits included and I can provide the copy. Not much more than "produced by" and "created by". Let me think about this a little and respond later. Can you just plan on a place holder with a little flexibility to add a little more for now?
3) In addition to the title, I have been thinking that a tagline might be "Hard Work. Education. Faith". I would like to talk to a friend this week-end and get her ideas. If you have ideas I would be interested in hearing them. I know I need something to set the tone and the subject of the movie. I want it to be catchy, memorable and grab the viewer's attention and interest.
4) I trust what you say about quality. I do have one still that I would like for you to see and think about whether it could be integrated in or not. That being said, I am absolutely open to the idea of an illustrated poster. Some of the best posters I have seen use simple iconic illustrations as opposed to photos. I would just not have known where to even begin to imagine HOW. That's why I am glad I am talking to you :-)
Is this enough information to get started or are there other things?
Thanks! Bobbie
Hi Luna, Can you see my reply to Kelly? I gave her the link to actually view the film. I think that is a better way for you to clearly see what the film and the character are about. It also will let you know the tone and setting better.
In case you could not see it in the thread it is:

Title: A Quiet Strength
Synopsis: A single, working mother in the heart of the Mississippi Delta sees hard work, education and faith as the foundation for raising her three high school daughters. She is neither a hero nor a victim of society, but rather a simple, hardworking woman who puts one foot in front of the other each day with quiet strength.
Please let me know what you think and what other questions you may have after you see the film. It is 18 minutes long.
Thanks, Bobbie

Hi Dinesh, Can you see the information that I provided to the other 2 folks? If you can watch the film, I think that would be helpful. Let me know if you need for me to send the link to the film.
Thanks, Bobbie
