Logo Design Brief
We need our company name, "Dow Theory Letters" with icons of a bull and a bear (or something better if you have any brilliant ideas!)
Some words to describe what we are looking for: strength/toughness/power, energy/dynamism, honesty/ethics, safety/stability, global/overview.
I have something I am using provisionally - a design from Google Images - that I like because the bull and bear are in dynamic poses that suggest strength, power, energy, even fighting. It is on the "door sign" and "website mockup" attachments.
A bit about our business/brand: Dow Theory Letters was started in 1958 by Richard Russell, who still writes it daily. He focuses on technical stock market analysis, particularly the "primary trend," macro-analysis of economic conditions, and precious metals.
Richard is considered one of the "godfathers" of investment newsletter writers. Dow Theory Letters is the oldest investment advisory letters written continuously by the same person. We have over 5,000 subscribers, and most have been with us for decades. We are working to transition the company so it can grow, attract younger subscribers, provide more services, and continue after Richard stops writing (he is 89). We want to expand to include additional writers, forums and wealth management.
Our current website is located at www.dowtheoryletters.com. We need a logo (and website design, but that's another matter) that looks up-to-date and professional, not antiquated and amateurish!
