Logo Design Brief

Our company - Geode Technology Inc. is going through a rebranding process. Our brand will be Geode Tech. We are a smartphone/tablet and cloud based fleet tracking solution. check out www.geodeme.com. We are looking for a brand symbol/logo. Shapes that imply globes and compass needles come to mind.

Included is a very rough draft, but other completely unrelated ideas are welcome.

Ideally we would have a stand alone logo and a slogan that we could choose to associate with it as appropriate.

Wireless communication companies (Verizon, Bell, AT&T); Companies with large truck/car fleets that require tracking; Fleet tracking resellers; Companies with smaller groups of trucks/buses (Servicemaster, mobile glass repair, bus touring companies)

Requirements

Nice to have

• While we are looking for elegantly simple, we would also consider designs which would work well with simple animation. Specifically, we would like to use our logo in our Cloud service in place of an hour glass when our software is updating or loading. In the rough attached example the "needle pointer" could spin around the globe like a compass needle. This would replace any spinning weeks or clocks normally employed to show system busy.
  
  Slogan is "Smart Fleet Management" - nice if this could optionally be included with fine print.
