I need a logo design for a music site, which features blogs and podcasts. The blog content covers everything from classic albums to new music reviews, while the podcast features people involved in the music industry (musicians, promoters, producers, engineers, etc...) discussing their love of music. The site is aimed at a 35+ age group and it has a predominantly blue colour scheme, so I'm looking for something that will work with that.
I would like the logo to have a unique identity to create a defined brand awareness - as a podcast I need it to stand out from the crowd in a competitive market place. Something very simple would be brilliant, like a pair of headphones with a sound wave passing between the ear pieces for instance. But the inclusion of a vinyl record/turntable, microphone, speaker, amplifier or mixing console could also work if incorporated into the design. The key is that it has to be simple and identifiable. I'm not a designer, so I'm open to suggestions if you have a better idea! Thanks - can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

 - One thing that I’m really looking for is some personality in the design, so maybe it needs a character that in time will identify the brand of Sound Distractions. It might be an updated take on the old His Master’s Voice logo with a dog listening to an old gramophone, though in this case maybe the dog is wearing headphones (and sunglasses?) intently listening to a retro radio (with sound waves coming out?). Or maybe it’s a geeky kid or person absorbed in what he’s listening to, or maybe it’s a retro robot listening to an iPod or playing an electric guitar? I don’t really know what it should be, but whatever it is let your imagination run wild and have fun with it. If it’s a little bit cheeky, geeky or humorous that could work too – as long as its got character or personality. The whole idea behind the name of the podcast / music blog is that they are designed to grab your attention, ie: that you’re being distracted by the sound.
