Web Design Brief

Hayes Knight are a progressive and innovative mid-tier professional services group (accountants and business advisors) with offices based in major cities throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Our positioning statement is "Energetic, Innovative, Streetwise", and the visual appearance must reflect this. Although still a relatively conservative industry, we aim to project a modern, innovative, energetic, highly professional but approachable image. The presentation should tie in with the theme "we take our work seriously, not ourselves".

Our aim with this new design is the elevate the status of the group in its online presentation and communication... we want to 'impress' and stand out from the crowd! See our existing site at www.hayesknight.com.au

We're looking for a special designer to take on the Web Site Design Concept - Uncoded - graphics only in line with the concept architecture we will provide (although we are flexible with the layout - we want an interface design that works!). Must work within the constraints of a suitable wordpress theme... Designer to source (we quite like wpremix.com as an option, but havn't seen any really slick representations of it)... there are many other great themes to choose from). Must include a series of slick flash banner designs.

Design and coding (custom design theme) using wordpress platform (unless you can convince us of the benefits of using some other recognised and supported platform).
Happy to receive the design concepts as graphics only (but the flash is an important factor). You'll need to prove that it will work within an existing theme (or that you are capable of quickly developing a bug-free custom site on the wordpress platform.

Only highly talented and professional designers need enter, but the right designer will be well rewarded with the offer of a much larger design project and plenty of ongoing work.

Task

We are completely overhauling our existing and outdated website(s) x 9 and are looking for a new visual design concept (homepage plus one inside section homepage, one information page and one state homepage to start).

Once our executive have selected and approved the winning concept, we will offer you the opportunity to complete all other sections of the site including a variety of flash banners and other visual section headings, advertising and promotional pieces not only for the central hayesknight.com.au site, but for all of the state sites (8), which will replicate the central site with mainly banner and advertising changes. We will look after content entry.

This project will grow into quite a large opportunity for the right designer with ongoing design elements in the form of flash banners, banner ads, newsletter and other emarketing designs, plus related blogs and product sites required over time.

We will provide you with a flexible wireframe architecture from which to work, along with conceptual content and imagery where available (feel free to use stock images wherever necessary). If you need something else, just ask!

Deadline

Unfortunately, we need you to work to a ridiculously tight deadline on the concept design, due to a pending executive meeting (where we are committed to making a decision on the approved concept). We need your designs to be submitted by 3/11/2009. The good news is that we can get started on the full project reasonably quickly following the first deadline.

Target Market(s)

Our primary target is the mid-size SME marketplace with turnover $5 - $50mil (CFO, COO, MD, GM - ie, Senior Executives) plus High Net worth individuals and high quality staff.

Hayes Knight's target market are clients who have (and are) invested in their businesses and/or themselves but now need our assistance to grow and develop further.

They need accountants and advisers who can deliver more than the fundamentals. Our clients are defined by an attitude that motivates them to seek out opportunities while putting the structures in place to ensure the security of their futures.

Requirements

Must have

• Designs must be clean and uncluttered whilst maintaining a slick and professional yet approachable look and feel.
  
  The corporate logo must be used and unchanged.
  
  A series of attractive, text based flash animated banners will be required to highlight our key messaging
  
  All of the page components as outlined in the concept design provided are required (although layout and other suggested modifications are welcomed).

Nice to have

• If possible (although not absolutely necessary), consideration should be made regarding tying in our NZ member firm''s site design at www.hayesknight.co.nz (which will not change) along with www.morisoninternational.com. Although we don''t wish to replicate either of these designs, it would be nice to somehow connect them visually in some way. Certainly the site map at the bottom of the page (like the NZ site) must be maintained.
