Logo Design Brief

We need a professional looking logo to use for a header on the website for our audio mastering facility based in Adelaide, Australia. The emphasis should be on "Sonic Imprints" and "Mastering" is optional or it could be less emphasised.
With mastering, we are the final stage of polishing and perfecting a music release before it is unleashed on the public. We would prefer not to see lots of corporate type logos, the logo should have an artistic style that should speak to music lovers and audio nerds. It could be in a retro style but should still have a polished vibe that conveys we have attention to detail and love what we do. It should be big enough for a website header. We would like to see an interesting background design/texture that can set the tone for the rest of the website.
