You have written a thrilling detective suspense novel you seem. This design concept is quite interesting. May be you are very good at writing. But your information shows that you are new to designing field.

If you want quality Artwork never ask for JPEG format. Because jpeg has different qualities 'Maximum' to 'Lowest'. When you send it to 'Amazan' you can use jpeg. But when you are getting from an artist ask for Tiff. If jpeg, insist for 'Maximum' quality. But you can not be sure if it is Best quality or not. So to avoid risk go for Tiff format. Quality guarantied.

Then these pixels. "Recommended size 600x800 pixels" is only for viewing in the monitor that is for Amazan.com. If you want to see or show your Design to your friends with a hard copy you will need Hi Resolution image. Now the pixel size you have asked is, only just 72 DPI.

Hi Resolution means 300 DPI (Dots (pixels) Per Inch). You need the design in 4.5" x 6.75" size (Multiply this with 300). That means 1350 pixel width and 2025 pixel Hight.
Just ask the artists for 300 DPI Resolution. And ask them to give all sides 3 mm extra for 'BLEED' if needed. And insist for cutting marks. Professional artists know what all these.

If there is many text matter coming you will need your design in vector formats like AI or CDR. Since your Wrapper design has only Book name and Author's name, just Tiff format is enough.

Do you want the whole of the cover in an antebellum style ie. the girls dress etc, or if you could give an idea, for design purposes, in what year(s) is the story taking place.

Thanks for inquiring! The story takes place in modern day. Important elements of the story include a historical antebellum home, cooking, a simple yellow dress, a sexy red dress, a petite blonde (more natural than glamorous), daisies, romance, a stalker, and murder. Let your imagination take it from there!
