Logo Design Brief
I need a new logo for myself as an Interior Designer. I live on an island just off the south coast of the England, the Isle of Wight.
I would like something individual and elegant and I am leaning towards using just the initials NM as a logo above my name but am open to ideas.
I need it to be eye catching as my only visual marketing initially will be a business card. I have yet to develop a website as work is gained predominantly by word of mouth on the island as it is relatively small, however there are many people here who have second homes and/or live here part time from London too so I want my logo to compete with those professional visual standards. I previously worked as an Art Director in the film industry for ten years and before that as a Theatre Designer, so have good knowledge of design and its processes. I aim to achieve very high standards in my work and certainly want my logo to reflect that.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: I am extending my deadline as up to now I don't feel that I have received high quality designs that really interpret my brief and the imaginative, colourful and stylish business I work in. Most of them are poor or too corporate. I also want to show my commitment by now having guaranteed my project. I'm really excited to receive some more interesting ideas. Thank you. Must have
- I am open to ideas and possibly even something that has a number of different colours in to reflect the broad scope of interior design generally. I want something that looks very stylish, elegant and interesting. I also noticed that most interior designers/agencies use a a text logo of the initials so I am interested in that for the N and M. I need it to be eye catching as my only visual marketing initially will be a business card.
Nice to have
- I really like Art Deco styling and Fonts I also like lower case small thick rounded simplified lettering. Open to anything though.
Should not have
- I do not want a literal reference to sailing in my logo even though many who use me may be from that community.
- I don't want anything too blocky or chunky. Anything that looks too corporate or industrial.
