Logo Design Brief

We need a brand new logo for a company with a 26 year history: Venture Mortgage of Edina, MN. We originate the most favorable commercial real estate financing available in the market for our clients, leveraging relationships with nearly 50 lenders to customize a loan package for each investment. Our CEO would like the colors to be primarily black and gold (muted gold, not bright or yellowish), and the logo should be taller than it is wide. We want to project wealth, sophistication, and security, and we'd like a logo that can translate to branded items relatively easily (without gradients and the like). I would like the words "Venture Commercial Mortgage" to be larger than "Commercial Real Estate Finance" (this tagline is optional, depending on your design), and I would like the "V" in Venture, the "C" in Commercial, and the "M" in Mortgage to be most prominent. We can't wait to see your work! Logos with or without a design element (enhancements that are not words or letters) are both fine. Thank you in advance.
