Logo Design Brief
Dawe's Plumbing and Heating provides residential and commercial plumbing and heating services to a local market in St.John's, NL, Canada.
The company is well established and has been operating for over 30 years.
Currently the company is operating as a Plumbing and Heating service contractor. We would like the flexibility in the logo to expand our offering to include other mechanical or electrical services offerings. i.e. the logo should be more universal.
General note is that St.John's is a small city and doesn't have skyscrapers and therefore logo should not include such an image. I have attached a few pictures of colorful row houses that St.John's is know for. Also, St.John's is the capital city on an island with rocky cliffs and shorelines and, at certain times in the year, an abundance of icebergs. This note is just for context. I am not particularly looking for the graphic to represent the attributes of the local area.
Updates
Because we are looking to expand our service offering, please do not use water droplets or water in the graphic. We feel this limits our service offering to plumbing

Must have
- I prefer to have a logo that is more horizontal rather than vertical so that it can be easily used in headers or footers on letterheads.
Nice to have
- This logo will be used in letterheads , business cards and will be used on signage on the sides of work vans.
The graphic should be part of or incorporate the "Dawe's" name. The "plumbing and heating" should be incorporated to allow for these services to change in the future.
If the design proposed will have a logo to the left of the Dawe's. Then this graphic should be linked to the name Dawes (maybe a variation of the letter "D") with some flare to make the graphic be able to stand on its own.
Should not have
- Do not include illustrations of pipes or wrenches in the logo.
