Logo Design Brief

This will be a fun project! We need a logo for a new website Surf url is surf.kiwi (not yet launched) based in New Zealand with a World Wide appeal. The website is a hub for anyone who loves the ocean, beaches, waves and board riding. But mainly for surfers should reflect the surfing lifestyle. The website is called SURF and and tagline is #surfkiwi . Colors should be bold and stand out on a black & white backgrounds. Black and White reflects the NZ colors so maybe this with an added one blue (ocean) color. I would like to see some element of Maori/ Hawaiian pacific theme but open to new creative concepts. The logo should be 100% unique, modern and not reflect another surfing industry logos or tacky clip art waves! Current logo is attached. SURF is the main text with #surfkiwi as a tagline. Logo image should be to the left but again open to new ideas! The design is to look good in the following size : 544px wide x 180px high . Any questions message me!
