Logo Design Brief

We need a logo designed for a new business called Executive Pet Resort. We provide upscale dog and pet vacations in Muskoka, Canada. Executive Pet Resort Is a friendly place but upscale, more attuned to the pets and providing more human companionship. Our resort is a total enrichment environment for dogs and cats. We are redefining the representation of the dog care industry and repositioning as a contemporary service. To break the mould, it is important to not use dog cartoons, cliche dog bones, or paws in our logo. The logo should be reversible to be used on black background or white. It will be used in a variety of uses such as t-shirts, hats, flags, digital media, and billboards. The logo should reflect an upscale outdoor experience, simple & understated.

Business Executives who have a home or cottage in Muskoka who want exceptional care for their best friend. Local dog owners who are looking for something different in pet care. Dog owners who want to understand their pets better.

Requirements

Must have

• A b&w illustration
• A wind-swept Muskoka pine tree
• One or more dog head profiles incorporated into outer bough
• One cat head profile (as above)
• Simple and functional on a black or white background e.g. work on a black vehicle or a white t-shirt
• The final design should communicate to dog owners the beauty of Muskoka and the joy of forested pathways to romp in.

Nice to have

• We are looking for a b&w drawing which incorporates wind-swept Muskoka pine tree (see pics) in black and white, with some of the outer-outline of the boughs used to create at least one dog head profile with at least one bough used for a smaller a cat head profile. We are looking for a clean, simple design, easily transferable to other uses like letterhead, hats, T-shirts, and flags.

Should not have

• Avoid too wind-swept, with a strong bend in the trunk. The trees are not in the process of being wind-swept, they just have been over time which changes how the branches form and sometimes how the trunks are shaped.
• The text should be at the bottom and balanced with the logo.
