Hello,

I'm confused by the ratio you've requested; 1:6. If you want the longest edge to be 2500 pixels that means the other edge will be 417 pixels. These dimensions are better for a web banner than a book cover.

So, just to clarify; are you asking for a book cover (portrait) or a banner for your tumblr (horizontal)?

Hope to hear from you soon,

Ellen

Could you descibe the book a little or maybe link to similar genres or covers you like. Regards.

You could read the tumblr which has a few chapters. Basically, the story is about two groups of people divided by a wall. The wall keeps one side in control and the other side out.

No offence but designers don't have time to read chapters of books especially when they're entering competitions as oppose to being hired direct. They tend to enter many at a single time. As such for a good result your brief needs more detail and that shouldn't include advice re reading the book.

I don't agree with you Cartoon Illustrator LeahG because as a designer you should do your homework before developing or designing something. As I and you are a book cover designers we must read at least a chapter to understand the book, otherwise, we could be making cover based on our perception. Which does not portray the book at all.

Hi! I was just wondering if you could provide any feedback on the covers that I have submitted. I love the idea of the book and the snippet that I read, and would be honored to design the cover for it. Just curious as to whether or not the designs I've submitted are what you're looking for or if you have any other ideas. Thanks for the opportunity!
