G`day,
How you need illustrations?
what size book?
Regards
How many illustrations are you looking for? The preview text you provided would take up a few different paintings. Is there something I can focus on for this painting? Is this a trial painting and if selected, you would hire us to complete the book? Am I able to submit a rough design and get feedback for the direction to go with it?
Thanks!
Hello there,
Very interesting brief!
Few questions though. Clients usually have a picture in their heads and its our job to bring it out. there's so many ways we can go about this. Do you want to go with computer generated designs or do you like a hand drawn feel to your illustrations.it is nice if you can include some samples you like..so we know exactly what you are looking for.
and since these illustrations are for parents..do they need to look childish?
Thank you for your interest in this project. It is one I am passionate about both personally and professionally. I apologize for my delayed response - new to Design Crowd and just found your questions - all good ones.
I would like a hand drawn feel. Definitely from the period of kings, queens, wizard and castles. A very "once upon a time"fairy tale" theme. My hope is that this sense will enable parents to connect ot the message and be able to relate yet not feel as defensive or judged
as they might if it was illustrated and told in current day language and pictures. I do not have an image to send, but did include the full story below which may be helpful.
I look forward to seeing your designs and will be happy to answer any additional questions you have.
The Gems of Massachusetts
Once upon a time there was a magical kingdom called Massachusetts. The kingdom was filled with parents and children who loved each other very much, and wondrous places for them to play. There were magnificent beaches, and libraries filled with great stories. There were beautiful woods to hike, incredible museums to play and learn, and fantastic parks. The parents of Massachusetts wanted to be the best parents they could be, and help their children grow into happy, confident, responsible adults.
But the wise parents of Massachusetts discovered a problem. They weren’t always sure how to do that. As wonderful as parenting could be, it was also hard. It was exhausting. It was frustrating. They often felt unsure about what they were doing, and sometimes even felt like terrible parents when they were trying their hardest to be the best.
Some had heard it whispered that there were magical gems of parenting wisdom hidden throughout the land. It was said that if you found those gems, you would know the secrets to parenting. You and your children would be happier, and your children would grow to be healthy, happy, responsible adults.
The parents decided to ask the wise wizard for help. The wizard thought their idea of finding and using the gems of wisdom was brilliant. She asked “What can I do to help?” The parents asked the wizard if she could make a map that showed where all the gems were located. The wizard said, “I will be happy to, but will need help. I will need knights, horses, tents, food and supplies, to travel the land and find all these gems. I will also need map making supplies to create the map.
After talking among themselves, the parents decided to help the wizard. They all reached in their coin bags and took out gold coins. They gave them to the wizard and told her to use these coins for all that she needed to find the gems and make the map.
After gathering all the supplies, the wizard and her band of seekers set of on their journey. They travelled far and wide, battling dragons and ogres, climbing mountains, swimming rivers, following rainbows and looking under rocks – all in search of the magic gems.
Finally, the wizard returned. All the parents gathered round. She waved her magic wand, and a map of all the gems of parenting wisdom in the land appeared on the side of the castle wall. The parents cheered and the children played. The parents used the map to find the gems. Their children grew up to be happy and healthy, and then used the map and gems to raise their own children.
The map still hangs on the castle to this day, and is used by all.
And everyone lived happily ever after.
The End.

I would like to see a design or two as a trial from which to select someone I'd like to work with for the full book. I don't have a specific image to send but would like it form the period of kings, queens, wizard and castles. A very "once upon a time"fairy tale" theme. I am not sure what you mean by "How do I need the illustrations?" Do you mean a certain file type? If so, you may be able to answer that better than I. The images will be used to as part of a story told by showing the pictures in a video, and me (or someone) reading the corresponding story. I don't have a particular size in mind, so you can go with what you think will work best. I definitely want it to be from the period of kings, queens, wizard and castles. A very "once upon a time"fairy tale" theme. My hope is that this sense will enable parents to connect to the message, and be able to relate, yet not feel as defensive or judged
as they might if the story was told/illustrated using current day words and images.
I do not have an image to send, but did include the full story below which may be helpful.
I also would like to see atleast two images from which I can select an artist I'd like to work with for all the images. So if you are interested, please include at least two images and an amount you have in mind for all the images you think we'd need. Thank you.
I look forward to seeing your designs and will be happy to answer any additional questions you have.

Hi project owner, can you provide feedback on my design?
Regards Dimitris
I'm almost ready with my work... maybe just an hour... why you close the project one day before?? May I send you my project anyway?
I worked very hard for this project and here in Italy is still April 18 . I can't publish on your project because it is closed but if you want to see it I'll public the project my profile. I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry, but design crowd does not allow me to publish the work on my profile if it does not belong to a project. I'm a bit 'sad because I worked on it for three days and now that is ended I can't show you. If you like just to see it send me an e mail.
