Logo Design Brief

The Forgotten Trades Fair* is an event attracting thousands of participants to an outdoor summer festival where the past comes to life in the crafts of a bygone era: steel forging, lathe turning, rope making, wood working, glass blowing, and pottery to name a few.... Tradespeople give live demonstrations, sell unique handmade goods, share techniques and inspire new generations of makers. (And of course tons of homemade food and brew!)

The event look and inspiration is based on an existing project. We love their logo (see attached) ... but of course we need something of our own!

We're looking for something that has a little of a hand-painted sign look, a little old/rustic... but very much of this generation (not too old-timey). (We know this is quite a popular, kind of "hipster" aesthetic right now.)

* Just a note that we aren't 100% solid on this title... We're looking for the magic word which might not end up being "Forgotten", but to get the ball rolling... this is what we're going for. Just to give you a heads up!

Target Market(s)

The appeal will be to the "hipster", DIY niche as well as older crowds who remember these trades and/or practice them. This is also a very popular event for families. To be honest, we're looking for a broad appeal... but focusing on people interested in DIY, local and handmade products
