Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a logo design for our High School and Club Wrestling team. Our school is Glendora Wrestling, our mascot is the Tartans, or plaid pattern basically, and our colors are Red, Black, White. I'm looking for a strong and bold logo with a clean finish. Our current logo which is the simple "G" is but would like something more original to wrestling. This logo or emblem would go on our team gear and singlets.

I had some ideas as to maybe have a grayed out stencil layer behind the "G" depicting the sport itself, of Wrestling. Our club has incorporated the "Warrior" name to give context as to why we have Tartans as our mascot which is the cloth that the warriors of Scotland wore. Also we host a tournament The Braveheart Tournament for some more added context in designing the logo. This logo would bring pride to the school program, kids from ages 6 years to adults into their mid 40's and their families. This program was nearly dropped to due to a lack of participation and leadership until the head coach and I, who are both Alumni of the school and program 8 years ago, decided to take on the responsibility of reigniting the passion for our sport. We are also located at the Foothills of the San Gabriel Mountain range in Southern California. Also if possible different design ideas in symbol, emblem, or a combination of both formats. Requirements

Must have

• Would like to see different designs of the "G."
• Same design for both texts.
• The club is named Tartan Warrior Wrestling Club.
• The High School team can be just Glendora Wrestling. So the design would need to be interchangeable with those words.

Nice to have

• A redesign of the "G" itself with the club or high school name
• Silhouettes of wrestling moves or lock ups, maybe the logo or emblem in front with shadows of wrestling behind. I've provided some examples of other College programs and for ideas.
• Would like for this Logo to be Bold, Clean and Elegant.

Should not have

• No awkward wrestling postions, have heard the kids criticize some previous designs and how they looked weird.
